​The Tara Hansen Foundation is dedicated to honoring the life and memory of Tara Hansen. Tara was a special education teacher at the West Freehold School in Freehold, NJ. Having passed away only six days after giving birth to her first child, The Tara Hansen Foundation is dedicated to the advancement of maternal health awareness. We truly believe that by educating the public and our healthcare providers we can help put an end to these tragedies.  It is believed that 90% of maternal deaths can be prevented.
